Active schools would like to hear from anyone with an interest in sports and health to assist with the running of a variety of after school sports clubs. Training will be porvided, no expereince necessary.

Paths to Health require volunteer walk leaders. Full training in leading walks will be provided. Walks usually last about half an hour and are at a relaxed pace.

The Monday Stroke Club at Grianan require volunteers for their morning session.The Monday Stroke club is a social group  and volunteers are needed to attend the social meetings and help the members participate fully in the groups activities such as, dominoes and bingo.

Duke of Edinburgh Award need volunteer leaders to help support young people through their award.

Western Isles Scouts urgently need new leaders for their expanding beavers, cubs, scout and explorers groups.

Advocacy Western Isles are looking to recruit Learning Disabilities Volunteers to support individuals and groups with activities.

Red Cross  need new volunteer drivers for the Stornoway area.

Lewis and Harris Archeological society, require a surveyor. The old settlement of Bosta, Great Bernera is being surveyed as part of the national Scotland's Rural Past project. If you are interested in working on the survey you need warm clothing, a hot flask and you will rewarded by spending the day on one of the most stunning locations in the Hebrides. They are also looking for a data inputter. If you are interested in archaeology, and local history we would appreciate some help inputing the information we learn as we survey.

Hebridean Mens Cancer Group are looking for a treasurer

Canine concern  are looking for a pet and owner to visit hospicies and residential care homes to provide therapet services.

Growing ambitions - Many young people have no idea about the range of career opportunities open to them today. Volunteer to give a 30-minute face-to-face talk – near you - and help to give them real career ideas.

Counselling and family mediation require a contact centre worker. The contact centre is a neutral venue in which a parent who no longer lives with their child is enabled to spend time with them in an informal atmosphere.The volunteer will assist in making the time spent between parent and child as relaxed as possible.

Blytheswood shop in Stornoway requires a volunteer assistant to help sort out the donations.

Western Isles Scout Association are looking for new leaders in each area of Lewis. Leaders participate in a whole host of activities for Scout Troops (boys & girls aged 6-25) No specific skills are required except for lots of enthusiam, wanting to work within a uniformed organisation and liking children and young people.

Advocacy Western Isles seeks advocacy workers to represent the interests of and speak on behalf of vulnerable people in the Western Isles who need support to make their views and wishes known to others. Full training will be provided.

An Sulaire Trust are looking for volunteers who would like to know more about traditional wooden boats, especially the dipping lug sailing boats of the Lewis tradition? An Sulaire Trust offers a unique chance to get hands on experience whatever your level of knowledge. Work happens in Stornoway on a Saturday during winter. This is often in a covered area, but on occasion might be outside working. No experience necessary - just a willingness to learn.

Alzheimer Scotland are looking for volunteer day care assistants and volunteer drivers in Harris.

Samaritans are looking for listening volunteers to man their phones, each volunteer carries out about 12 hours a month on a rota. Full training will be given.

The lifestyle Centre in Stornoway are looking for a young man to volunteer as a buddy, this opportunity is MV compatible.
