Staff from the Volunteer Centre took part in a Dementia Friends session on 11th May.

It was very interesting to hear about the different forms dementia can take and who it can affect. We learned about what the disease can do to the brain, how it might feel to be a carer for a person with some form of dementia, and also how we can effectively respond to people who have dementia.

There are Dementia Cafes and Musical Memories sessions running throughout the islands for people with dementia and their carers to attend. Please contact the Volunteer Centre in your area to find out more!
