Chest Heart and Stroke are looking for volunteer drivers in Harris for further information contact Ethel in the Volunteer Centre Tarbert. They are also looking to recruit volunteer escorts to assist members who have had strokes, on and off mini buses and support them during the journey. Training will be provided. For more information contact Terri in the Stornoway office.The Army Cadets are looking for female volunteer instructors for their existing groups in Ness and Tarbert and are also looking for both Male and Female volunteer instructors to enable them to restart a group in Daliburgh. No experience is needed as all training will be given. Expenses and an allowance will be paid for futher information contact Terri at the Volunteer Centre in Stornoway. The Western Isles Credit Union are looking for volunteers for both Harris and Stornoway, duties would include giving advice, taking in savings etc. Training and support will be given. This job would suit someone with time on their hands while also offering a worthwhile Service to the community. Bethesda are currently looking for volunteers in ther Stornoway shop. The newly established Hebridean Mens's Cancer Support Group require administrative/secretarial support (male or female) from April 2008 onwards, intially on a volunteer Basis. Duties will initally include the production and distribution of agendas and minutes of meetings - the group will meet on the first Tuesday of each month at Grianan - and general administrative support to the group.
