Uig pupils Make a Difference.

Between the 27th October and the 4th November volunteers throughout the UK have been donating a couple of hours of their time in a variety of ways as part of Make a Difference Day.

The pupils at Uig Primary school have been particularly busy, clearing up and tidying the grounds of the community centre and school then putting on a performance in the community centre.

Terri Davies from the Volunteer Centre Western Isles visited the pupils at Uig School on Wednesday to find out about what they had been doing and to present them with their Make a Difference Day certificates.

“The children had obviously enjoyed their activities for Make a Difference Day.   We talked about all the other people in the community who volunteer and what would happen if they all stopped.”   Said Terri Davies “The day I visited, the children were volunteering again. Everyone was dressed up in Halloween costumes to raise money for child line. I was really impressed by the children's commitment to helping others.”
