The Volunteer Centre Western Isles is part of a national network of volunteer centres which exist across Scotland. We work closely with Volunteer Development Scotland to improve the quality of our services, keep up to date with volunteering issues and act as a two way link between local volunteering and the Scottish Executive.

The Volunteer Centre Western Isles is independent and truly local with offices based in Lewis, Harris, Uist, and Barra .

We aim to:

• encourage people to take part in their local community as volunteers and also in the wider world.
• work along side both voluntary, community groups and statutory agencies to promote and develop good practice in volunteering.
• assist all organisations that involve volunteers to make volunteering a positive and enjoyable experience, for the benefit of the organisation, the individual and the wider community.
